We were in need of a fresh sensory bin filler but I didn’t want to have to run to the store for anything. So that left us with some kinetic sand, some birdseed, and some old white rice. All recently used or just not very inspiring. Then it hit me. Take that uninspired white rice and go for a classic sensory bin filler that we just hadn’t gotten around to. Rainbow Rice!
I hope everyone is doing alright. And if not, I hope that a 0-3 month baby bean update full of adorable baby pictures helps! As of writing this, we will have been Sheltering at Home for 2 months and honestly, it’s not like we went anywhere much of her first month so really we just haven’t been much of anywhere for her whole life…lol
It happened. Over the winter we were bitten by the Frozen bug. A princess Toy rotation seemed like a no brainer now that we have started to accumulate more princess toys. This is a theme that I feel like a lot of little girls would love and it was a HIT for us.
Newborn must-haves are really more like mom and dad must-haves. The baby really just needs snuggles and food, and if mama is breastfeeding you come well equipped to handle both those needs. That said there are some things that make life easier and more enjoyable for everybody!
For our May tot school, I hope that we can spend as much time outside as possible. Goodness knows we need the fresh air! We are going to learn about life in the Desert, Gardening and Insects and springtime, and sprinkle in a little magic as well! Then we will also have our monthly focuses of the letters MNO, the color purple, and diamonds.
Spring seems like the ideal time to do a birdseed sensory bin. Not only is it a great filler, but we can also do an extension of the activity by using the seed to feed the birds and talk about baby birds, nests, and eggs! Love when themes work together so well!
In an effort to cheer us up and get us through the last dregs of winter I planned a Springtime toy rotation! Here in Colorado, we have been teased with a few beautiful days, but they are always followed by cold and dreary days as well. So we needed something fun and bright for those grey days.
People all over the world are finding themselves at home with their kids and whether you were already a stay at home mom or find yourself trying to work from home now; we all have the same problem. These toddlers need things to do! I rounded up my favorite super easy toddler activities that use things you already have in your home!
Bean’s birth and labor story is something that we were so excited to share it was so hard for this mama to wait for her! Her due date was 2/2/20 tell me that wouldn’t have been the coolest due date ever!? Alas, that was not the case.
I hope my April Tot School plans can help some moms (and toddlers) make it through the social distancing we are all practicing right now. We are going to learn about birds, nature, and springtime, and do some fun Easter crafts and activities. As well as our monthly focuses of the letters JKL, the color yellow and circles.
