Our 2-year-old routine hasn’t changed too much from Bitty’s 18-month routine but there have been a couple of changes so I thought I would make an update! I am a firm believer in toddler routines. They thrive on predictability and honestly, it keeps me motivated as well. So in case you are looking to update your toddler routine now that your little is getting older then read on!

Vintage Elephant Gender Reveal Backyard BaByQ. That’s such a mouthful when you say it all together. But that’s what it was. We had some vintage decor touches. Plenty of elephants scattered around. We hung around in the backyard while we were grilling burgers for dinner on the BBQ. Then the whole point of why we got together to spill the beans about what sex baby Bean is!

We swear by toddler toy rotations in this house. Yes, toddlers will play with anything, but it’s just like magic when you pull out some “new” toys and they get so engrossed in independent play. We rotate once a month, with a mid-month refresh if anything is getting really stale.

October starts the holiday season and I really do love this time of year, not to mention that it is super easy to theme activities around holidays! So for our October Tot school, we are embracing all things dark and spooky. Just not TOO spooky. She is only 2 after all.
Let’s be realistic your 2nd pregnancy checklist is way less detailed than the first time around. Likely you still own most of the baby essentials and you honestly just don’t have the free time to obsess over this pregnancy because you are running around after a small child already.

I wanted to provide my personal list of 1-year-old must-have toys as a guide to the toys that have been played with day in and day out and she kept coming back for more. Obviously we have more than these toys but these were definitely her favorites. I feel like they would easily be winners in any toddlers toy box!
Our orange loose parts sensory bin is a simple invitation to explore with some paper grass, our orange loose parts, and some tongs. While it may be simple don’t be misled, it offers some great fine motor practice and plenty of fun!
