It was time for a toy rotation and I thought it might be fun to get a little more creative for March and thus the St. Patrick’s Day Toy Rotation was born.
I spent some time updating our toy shelves for our January toddler toy rotation. I wanted to mix in some of her new toys from Christmas, but I also wanted to make sure and save some of them for later on down the road. Especially because we will need some good distractions with baby Bean due next month!
Continue reading “January Toddler Toy Rotation”With it getting darker and cold so early in the day we are inside more than I would like so our December toy rotation is set up for her to play independently, but also offers some easy ways for us to play with her.
Continue reading “December Free Play Toy Rotation”The start of the holiday season means that our November toy rotation is sure to be played with a little less than usual, and I don’t mind. Last month our October toy rotation definitely got a little stale by the end of the month so some extra excitement and loved ones to play with will surely help keep things more interesting this month
Continue reading “November Free Play Toy Rotation”We swear by toddler toy rotations in this house. Yes, toddlers will play with anything, but it’s just like magic when you pull out some “new” toys and they get so engrossed in independent play. We rotate once a month, with a mid-month refresh if anything is getting really stale.

It takes the tiniest bit of work upfront to move the toys around. Then just watch the magic as old toys become new! Also by having less out to play with you may just find that not only are they playing with their toys longer, but the mess is so much less than when they had access to everything!
After being away for vacation I knew that I wanted to freshen up our play space, but to be honest I was exhausted. There is never more truth than needing a vacation after vacation than when you travel with toddlers!
I knew we needed some tried and true easy favorites out on the shelf this week and I didn’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about it either.
Continue reading “Toddler Play Space: Toy Rotations at 23 months”When I do our rotations and we have a fresh toddler toy shelf it always refreshes the space and that’s just what we needed after last week!
Free Play is my number one thing I want Bitty to learn. Not only is it so important for her brain development but its also such a joy to watch her and see what new interest she has in a toy or what new game she has created for herself! There is also something to be said about the few moments of alone time it gives me. 😉
